Human Resources Specialist

Horner & Shifrin is seeking a full-time Human Resources Specialist. This position requires 2+ years of experience, with a strong understanding of HR best practices. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support day-to-day employee and leader questions while creating a responsive and consistent experience. Maintains confidentiality of all employees and HR files, including, but not limited to, FMLA and workers’ compensation. Administer FMLA and other leave-of-absence programs, ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state regulations while providing guidance and support to employees and managers throughout the leave process. Serve as the primary HRIS administrator and subject matter expert (SME), maintaining employee data integrity, system configuration, reporting, troubleshooting, and user support. Prior experience with Paycor is preferred. Assists with the Talent Acquisition process, including job postings, new hire paperwork, and candidate screening. Enter new hire and employee record changes in HRIS. Employment verification Support compliance-related reporting such as EEO-1. Prepare reports on HR metrics. Participate in job fairs and recruitment events to attract potential candidates. Perform clerical tasks such as maintaining employees’ personnel records. Lead onboarding and offboarding processes such as new hire onboarding, exit interviews, unemployment claims., preparing orientation materials and conducting orientation sessions. Assists throughout the benefits renewal and open enrollment process. Assists the HR department with other HR-related projects.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information and HR matters. Ability to manage multiple tasks with a high level of accuracy Self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative and the ability to work independently Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Strong organizational skills. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must complete a background check.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.

SALARY RANGE:

Horner & Shifrin, Inc. offers a comprehensive total rewards package and is committed to fair, competitive, market-based compensation. The target salary range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000. Compensation for the successful candidate will be based on the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, and geographic location. Why come work for us?
