Cottonwood Springs is a 108-bed behavioral health facility offering adult mental health and substance use treatment services. The facility includes four 24-bed units (Meadows, Sunrise, Cedars, and Prairie) and one 12-bed unit (Sunflower), specializing in depression, anxiety, psychosis, thought disorders, and substance detoxification. Cottonwood Springs fosters a trauma-informed, team-centered culture where RNs and BHTs work collaboratively and are equally valued. Employees are recognized through the Weekly All-Star Program, and many stay because of the strong sense of teamwork and support. The facility also promotes career growth, with several BHTs advancing into leadership and clinical roles across the organization.

How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Will assess the patient and plan care within set timeframes and document findings according to policies
• Will oversee and supervise the shift
• Demonstrates leadership through duties that may include delegating tasks such as groups, close observation, meal supervision, etc
• Will also oversee staff to ensure nursing policies and procedures are followed and exemplary patient care is consistently delivered by self and all members of the team
• Will monitor patient for change of condition and respond accordingly up to and including notification of the physician
• RN will follow hospital policy for medication administration
• RN will consistently use empathy, dignity, and respect when interacting with patients
• Delivery of quality nursing care to ensure that goals of the treatment plan are properly executed following hospital policies and procedures and demonstrated nursing competencies
• Assists/performs comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Kansas or Compact State RN license and possess an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Education

  Bachelor of Science (BSN) preferred, Associates required

  
  

• Certifications

  Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care preferred, but must have within 30 days of hire

  
  

Schedule: FT Nights 7p - 7a and rotating weekends/on-call/holidays
