RN Research Nurse Coordinator l (Hybrid) - Neurology

Scheduled Hours: 40 hours per week. Position Summary Dr. RandallBateman’s laboratory investigates the causes, future diagnosis, and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease using a variety of assays and techniques, ranging from quantitative measurement of stable‑isotope labeled peptides to clinical translational studies of diagnostic and therapeutic biomarkers. The lab is conducting a study to collect matched blood and cerebrospinal fluid from patients with memory concerns and will launch the Study to Understand Novel Biomarkers in Researching Dementia (SUNBIRD) to validate blood biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease in a large clinic‑based cohort. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Work under the principal investigator’s guidance to meet research objectives. Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation; document, collect data and assist physicians. Assist staff in identifying, screening, and enrolling study subjects; ensure lab and data are obtained according to established protocol. Prepare and submit event reports in adherence with study procedures, budgets, and established guidelines. Assist research associates from the sponsoring organization by providing study explanations and reports as necessary. Collect basic health information as required by protocol. Assess research participants and interact with participants, family, and caregivers in a research setting, including those with mild to moderate dementia and healthy control volunteers. Working Conditions Normal office environment with exposure to blood‑borne pathogens; protective devices required. Direct patient care setting. Physical effort includes sitting at a desk or table, standing, walking, bending, crouching, stooping, and occasional lifting (25lbs. or less). Equipment: office equipment and clinical/diagnostic equipment. Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Current RN licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location. Basic Life Support certification with skills component (online BLS without a skills assessment component is not sufficient). Preferred Qualifications & Skills Clinical research experience ≥1year. Clinical research coordination, management, methods, and operations. Database management, electronic health records (EHR), and statistical analysis software (SAS). Effective written and oral communication, interpersonal relationships, and team collaboration. Proficiency with spreadsheet software and critical thinking. Knowledge of clinical techniques and nursing fundamentals. Offers are contingent upon successful completion of these requirements. Salary Range GradeS25: $60,000.00 – $99,900.00annually.
