Registered Nurse - CVICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized critical care to postoperative cardiac surgery patients in a 16-bed CVICU, ensuring optimal recovery and device management. Work collaboratively with a highly skilled team to deliver advanced patient care in a fast-paced, technologically equipped environment.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive critical care to postoperative cardiac patients, including ECMO, LVADs, and device management.
• Perform advanced procedures such as central line and Swan-Ganz catheter insertions, intubations, and hemodynamic monitoring.
• Monitor patients using Phillips bedside telemetry and document accurately within Meditech system.
• Collaborate with intensivists, surgeons, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, including certifications in ACLS and BLS, ensuring patient safety at all times.
• Adapt to floating policies and assist other ICU units as needed to ensure smooth unit operations.

Qualifications:

• Possess at least 2 years of critical care nursing experience, with specific CVICU background preferred.
• Demonstrate proficiency with PA catheter, hemodynamic monitoring, and device management including Impella and IABP.
• Hold current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Be licensed or eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in Tennessee.
• Show strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills.
