Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a NICU-based night shift position at a children's hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years NICU experience and L&D experience.

Details

• Children's hospital NICU setting, with home unit assignment in NICU, PICU, or Peds determined upon arrival
• Primary work in Labor & Delivery (L&D)
• Floating required to PICU and some Pediatric Acute Care, as well as potential affiliate hospital locations
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Every other weekend required
• Cerner charting experience required

Requirements

• Current Indiana state license or Compact license required (license required if applicable)
• Active certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NBRC RRT, and NRP
• PALS preferred
• RT education must be accredited by CoARC and regionally accredited by CHEA
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience
• L&D experience required
• NICU or PICU experience required
• Children's hospital experience within the last 3 years required; experience at a Level 1 adult facility may also be considered
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must be comfortable with and aware of the every other weekend requirement
• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• NRP may be obtained after an offer is extended, as determined by the facility
• Indiana residents are considered local candidates; local candidates are accepted for Allied positions
• Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have a 12-month separation before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break to reset eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break, and in-state residents require a 180-day break, effective 2/24/26
• RTO of 5 days or fewer may be auto-approved
