Base Salary: 67-80k/year


Summary of the Position


Our client is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee finance and accounting operations. This role is responsible for financial closing, reporting, budgeting, consolidation, tax-related reporting, and financial analysis.


The position also supervises accounting staff and works closely with management and overseas headquarters. Business-level Japanese and English communication skills are required.

• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, consolidated P&L, balance sheets, and variance reports.
• Manage consolidation, intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and foreign currency accounting.
• Ensure financial reporting complies with GAAP and internal policies.
• Manage fixed assets and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Prepare local tax returns and support external audits.
• Prepare financial reports and analysis for management and overseas headquarters.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Improve accounting procedures, systems, and internal controls.
• Supervise, train, and develop accounting staff.
• Support hiring, performance reviews, and other departmental management activities.
• Handle special projects and other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 7 years of accounting/finance experience.
• Management or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, closing, consolidation, and GAAP.
• Fluent/business-level Japanese and English (spoken and written).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience working with cross-functional and international teams.

• Experience with Oracle ERP or similar accounting/ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with consolidated financial reporting and foreign currency accounting.
• Experience working with a Japan-based headquarters or international organization is a plus.

• Hybrid or Remote work arrangement.
• Must be able to report to the Honolulu-area office as required.
• Occasional domestic travel, approximately twice per year.
• May occasionally be required to work outside normal business hours.
