Food Service WorkerThe Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing and/or building food items while providing customer service and adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures. In addition to accurately processing retail merchandise transactions, maintaining the balance of the cash drawer. Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by O'Hare Joint Venture 2 location based on business needs.Essential FunctionsPrepares and builds food items according to standardized recipes and directionsProperly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and proceduresSets up workstations including prep tables, service counters, hot wells, steam tables, etc.Breaks down, cleans, and sanitizes workstationsCount, organize, and balance cash drawer; fill out the cashier slip; and make depositsServes food to customers while ensuring guest satisfaction and anticipating the customers' needsReplenishes food items and ensure product is stocked to appropriate levelsMaintains excellent customer service and positive attitude towards guest, customers, and co-workers, etc.Operates a register and handles cash and credit card transactionsAdheres to safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitationEnsures security of company assetOther duties and tasks as assigned by managerLIFTING REQUIREMENTS: Place an "X" next to the statement that best describes the usual lifting activity to perform the job.Sedentary - Lifting up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying small items (files, manuals, binders).Light - Lifting 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 10 pounds.x - Medium - Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.Heavy - Lifting 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighting up to 50 pounds.Very Heavy - Lifting objects in excess of 100 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing 50 pounds or more.QualificationsPrevious food service experience preferredMust be able to obtain food safety certificationPrevious cash handling experience preferredBasic math and counting skills requiredDemonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbalMust be able to work independently with limited supervisionRequires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 25 lbs.Job Types: Part-time, Full-timeSalary: $18.00 per hourBenefits:Employee discountFlexible scheduleFood providedRestaurant type:Quick service & fast-food restaurantShift:4-hour shift8-hour shiftWeekly day range:Monday to FridayWeekendsAbility to commute/relocate:Chicago, IL 60666: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: In person; On site
