POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled, compassionate OR Registered Nurse to join the 

Aesthetx surgical team. As a key member of our perioperative care 

continuum, you will deliver the same premium, white-glove experience in 

the OR that defines every touchpoint of the Aesthetx brand. The ideal 

candidate brings deep surgical nursing expertise, an instinct for 

anticipating patient needs, and a genuine passion for patient-centered 

care in a high-end aesthetic surgery environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

PRE-OPERATIVE CARE & PATIENT CHECK-IN

- Welcome and check in surgical patients with warmth and 

professionalism, setting the tone for a five-star experience from 

the moment of arrival.

- Perform comprehensive pre-op assessments: review medical history, 

verify surgical consent, confirm NPO status, and document baseline 

vitals.

- Verify patient identity, procedure site, and procedure type per 

established time-out protocol.

- Place IV access and draw pre-op labs as ordered; administer 

pre-operative medications per provider orders.

- Educate patients on the day-of-surgery process, answer questions, 

and alleviate anxiety — ensuring informed, confident patients before 

they enter the OR.

- Coordinate with the surgical team to confirm room readiness, 

instrument availability, and equipment functionality prior to each 

case.

INTRAOPERATIVE NURSING

- Function as circulating RN throughout surgical procedures: manage 

patient positioning, monitor physiological status, and maintain OR 

safety and flow.

- Prepare, organize, and pass surgical instruments and supplies; 

anticipate surgeon needs to maintain efficient, uninterrupted case 

progression.

- Maintain strict sterile field technique; promptly identify and 

correct any breaches in sterility.

- Perform accurate surgical counts (instruments, sponges, sharps) 

with the scrub technician before, during, and after each case.

- Administer intraoperative medications, IV fluids, and local 

anesthetics as directed; verify dosages and document all 

administrations in real time.

- Monitor and document vital signs, anesthesia status, and 

physiological responses; communicate changes immediately to the 

anesthesia provider and surgeon.

- Manage specimen collection, labeling, and chain-of-custody 

documentation per pathology protocols.

- Operate and troubleshoot OR equipment including electrosurgical 

units, imaging systems, and patient warming devices.

POST-OPERATIVE RECOVERY (PACU)

- Receive patients from the OR with a structured hand-off and assume 

care in the PACU with a focus on comfort and safety.

- Continuously monitor recovery progress: assess consciousness, 

airway patency, hemodynamic stability, pain level, nausea, and 

wound status.

- Administer post-operative analgesics, antiemetics, and recovery 

medications per standing orders and provider direction.

- Evaluate discharge readiness using validated scoring criteria; 

review post-op instructions with patients and caregivers in detail.

- Provide compassionate emotional support during the vulnerable 

recovery phase, managing expectations with empathy.

- Complete thorough discharge documentation and schedule follow-up 

care before releasing patients from the facility.

DELIVERING THE AESTHETX PATIENT EXPERIENCE

- Uphold the Aesthetx standard of concierge-level care at every 

patient interaction — before, during, and after surgery.

- Personalize the experience by anticipating individual comfort needs, 

preferences, and concerns; ensure every patient feels seen, safe, 

and cared for.

- Communicate proactively with patients' support persons regarding 

procedure timelines and recovery status.

- Collaborate with coordinators, aestheticians, and clinical staff 

to ensure seamless care transitions throughout the surgical journey.

SAFETY, COMPLIANCE & DOCUMENTATION

- Maintain and enforce infection prevention best practices including 

hand hygiene, PPE use, and environmental disinfection between cases.

- Manage controlled substance counts and narcotic documentation per 

DEA regulations and facility policy.

- Complete accurate, timely clinical documentation; ensure all records 

meet Quad A (AAAASF) accreditation and state regulatory standards.

- Respond to intraoperative and post-operative emergencies with 

clinical composure; initiate BLS/ACLS protocols as indicated.

- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, case reviews, and 

ongoing staff education.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Current RN license in California — required

- Active BLS and ACLS certifications — required

- 3–5 years RN experience in perioperative, plastic surgery, 

emergency, or critical care — required

- Demonstrated expertise in surgical nursing workflows and sterile 

technique

- Familiarity with Quad A (AAAASF) accreditation standards

- Plastic/reconstructive surgery experience — strongly preferred

- BSN from an accredited nursing program or equivalent experience

- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills

- High emotional intelligence in patient-facing, high-touch 

environments
