Schedule: 12a-830a Tuesday-Saturday rotational saturday
Location: Miramar, FL 33025
Job Type: [Travel contract / local contract / permanent/ per diem]
Contract Length: 3 Months
Pay Range: 19 to 20.64/hr
*Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.


Basic Purpose

Responsible for general support functions within the Technical Operations Department, including specimen processing and handling.

Key Responsibilities

• Sort, rack, centrifuge, aliquot, store, and deliver specimens to the laboratory.
• Verify specimen types, quantities, handling requirements, and test orders.
• Identify and resolve issues related to specimens, missing information, and test orders.
• Perform data entry and required documentation accurately and timely.
• Research test information using computer systems, translation tables, and the Directory of Services.
• Meet quality and production standards after completing training.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow 5S standards.
• Follow all safety, compliance, biohazard, and work process policies.
• Support department staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimal data entry skills.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Medical background and clinical laboratory terminology preferred.
• Previous production environment experience preferred.
• Familiarity with mainframe computers preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to change.
• Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and maneuver carts/racks containing specimens.
