Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Dietary Cook to join our assisted living team. The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, appetizing meals that meet residents’ dietary needs while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment.

• Prepare and serve meals in accordance with planned menus and dietary requirements

• Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations

• Follow special diet orders (mechanical soft, diabetic-friendly, low sodium, etc.)

• Maintain portion control and proper food presentation

• Assist with food prep, cooking, and serving during meal times

• Monitor food temperatures and maintain proper storage of all food items

• Keep kitchen, equipment, and work areas clean and organized

• Collaborate with nursing staff and administration regarding resident dietary needs

• Assist with inventory, food ordering, and minimizing waste

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Previous cooking experience required (healthcare, assisted living, or restaurant preferred)

• Knowledge of safe food handling practices and sanitation standards

• Food Handler’s Permit or ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain)

• Ability to follow recipes and dietary modifications

• Strong time management and organizational skills
