Job Summary

Pediatric Psychology — Bangor, ME. This position provides inpatient behavioral health care primarily to pediatric and adolescent patients, with occasional support for adult patients as needed. Responsibilities include patient observation, redirection and de-escalation, activities of daily living assistance, safety monitoring, and participation in individualized patient care.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year of inpatient psychiatric experience; experience with pediatric or adolescent patients, acute care pediatrics, or autistic patients; Maine Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; willingness to obtain MOAB certification on site; ability to perform redirection and de-escalation, assist with activities of daily living, conduct safety rounds every 7.5 minutes, serve as a 1:1 sitter, participate in physical holds using the least restrictive measure, and obtain electrocardiograms (EKGs) as needed.
• Schedule: Night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Care is provided primarily to pediatric and adolescent patients ages 5–18 with conditions including autism, self-harm, depression, suicidal ideation, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, gender dysphoria, trauma, sexual trauma, and anger. The role includes caring for voluntary and involuntary admissions, participating in every-other-weekend rotations, and working holidays in rotation. Orientation occurs during the first week, Monday through Friday, with regular shifts beginning during the second week. Solid-color professional attire is required.
