Skilled Crate Assembler

Job Description

Job Description

Real Talk About This Job

We're not going to sugarcoat it. This is a physical job. You'll be on your feet for 8 hours, lifting 50-100 lbs repeatedly, and doing real hands-on wood working assembly work.

We're looking for candidates who have the required skills and experience for this role.

Ensure to read the entire job posting before submitting your application.

This is a Temp to Hire position with a company that actually values people who show up and put in the work. Hit your marks during the temp phase and you're looking at a permanent spot with the possibility of a raise.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

• Carpentry and woodworking: build wooden structures, skids, crates, and pallets.
• Read and interpret engineering blueprints, cut sheets, and technical drawings to match exact product dimensions and weight distributions.
• Safely operate power and hand tools: table saws, miter saws, circular saws, panel saws, pneumatic nail guns, staple guns, drills, routers, and sanders.
• Use tape measures and basic math (including fractions) to accurately calculate dimensions, clearances, and material quantities.
• Operate Pallet jacks, and heavy lifting gear to maneuver lumber and position machinery safely.
• Hands-on assembly work following detailed instructions; package finished products, run quality checks, and keep your area clean.
• Warehouse tasks: unload boxes from pallets onto the conveyor table; move pallets and haul them to the compactor area; replace materials in boxes to new shipping units; break down, flatten, and stack cardboard; cut stretch wrap and strapping off pallets; carry bags to recycling and toss trash bags into the dock dumpsters.
• Physical work all shift: lift 50–100 lbs repeatedly — bending, reaching, kneeling. Report issues to your supervisor, and work fast and efficiently without slowdown aside from the usual break periods.

What We Need From You

• Ability to read and follow work instructions (no shortcuts)
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Can communicate clearly with your team
• Physical ability to stand 8 hours and lift 50-100 lbs repeatedly
• Reliable transportation - you need to get here every day
• Flexibility for occasional overtime when the work demands it

Required Skills and Experience in the following:

• Carpentry experience: 2+ years of general carpentry, cabinet-making, or building wooden structures, skids, and pallets.
• Blueprint reading: interpret blueprints, cut sheets, and technical drawings to match exact product dimensions.
• Tool proficiency: safe operation of saws, nail guns, staple guns, drills, routers, and sanders.
• Measurements: accurate tape measure use and basic math (including fractions) for dimensions and material quantities.
• Moisture and shock protection: vapor barrier bags, desiccants, VCIs, and foam cushioning.
• Physical ability: lift 50–100 lbs repeatedly; bending, reaching, kneeling all shift.

The One Thing That Matters Most: Showing Up

Attendance is everything. More than 3 missed days and the assignment ends. No exceptions. If you've got things going on that might keep you from being here consistently, be honest before applying.
