Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the world.The primary duties of a Distribution Project Engineer include preparation of engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports and designs for distribution overhead and underground lines, performing load flow analysis, contingency analysis, and coordination studies. This Engineer will be seen as the Lead Engineer for projects, and the subject matter expert in their area of expertise. They will create full design packages across many different projects: Infrastructure, Renewables, Industrial, etc. They will also be expected to mentor newer EIT's to grow their careers and capabilities. In the role of Distribution Project Engineer, we'll count on you to:Coordinate the work of the power design team through the schematic design development and contract document phase of a projectEstablish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code complianceCoordinate workload to complete the deliverable on schedule.Conduct work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplinesReview project documents for areas of conflict with other disciplines.Write and edit project specificationsCoordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, requests for information (RFIs), change orders (COs), and take responsibility to incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documentsProvide construction contract administration as neededConduct QA/QC on the work of other Engineers, Project Coordinators or Designers, or BIM Technicians as neededPerform other duties as neededPreferred Qualifications:Master's degree in engineering or MBAPreference given to candidates local to the Madison/Milwaukee, WI or Minneapolis, MN areaSome travel may be requiredMedium voltage design and power system study analysis experiencePart of a local or national organization within the industryPrevious presentation or white paper experiencePrevious experience with an engineering consulting firm or electrical utilityA minimum of three (3) years of experience in project execution within the Power Sector MarketRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in EngineeringRequires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.Previous experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.Computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software. The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. The salary range in Minnesota is $85,260 - $121,800.
