Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (OR)

Location: Houston, TX
Duration: 12 Weeks

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced surgical environment. The RN will collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team, utilizing the nursing process to ensure safe and effective perioperative care.

The ideal candidate will have strong circulating experience , exposure to neuro and robotic surgeries , and familiarity with EPIC charting systems .

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
• Function as a Circulating Nurse in the operating room
• Assist with surgical procedures across general surgery, orthopedics, and neuro cases
• Prepare operating rooms, instruments, and equipment for procedures
• Maintain sterile environment and ensure adherence to safety protocols
• Monitor patient condition before, during, and after surgery
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC charting system
• Educate patients and families regarding procedures and post-operative care
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical team members
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and quality standards

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Texas
• Minimum 2+ years of Operating Room experience
• Circulating RN experience required
• Experience in:
  • General Surgery
  • General Orthopedics
  • Neuro (required)
  • Robotics (preferred)
• Experience with EPIC charting system
• Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills

• Charge Nurse experience
• Scrub nurse experience
• Experience working in high-acuity surgical environments
