Manufacturing Engineer

Job DescriptionAbout the Role:Develop and implement manufacturing business improvement projects and processes for trailer manufacturing. Support teams to make improvements to existing devices and manufacturing processes. Lead complex projects independently with minimal supervision. YourResponsibilities:Assesses process capabilities, prioritizes process improvement opportunities, and innovates and implements process improvements on commercial products.Applies technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, tooling and/or automation.Plans, organizes, and conducts all aspects of technical reviews.Ensures proper documentation is completed to meet quality systems requirements.Writes and reviews validation protocols and reports applications to new processes.Oversees development builds associated with the project using special work requests.Develops and maintains qualified production lines.Provides Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to the engineering print package.Contributes or generates ideas.Trains and/or provides work direction to technicians and engineers and may train manufacturing personnel when required as part of a validation.May serve as a core team member or extended team member on new product projects.Participate in lean reviews and line side meetings.Must comply with requirements of Environmental, Health and Safety standards and follow procedures and instructions related to these standards.Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports Quality Policy, Quality System, and the appropriate regulations for the area they support.Other duties as assignedLet's Talk About Your Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree - Major Desired: Engineering or Engineering TechnologyProficiency using Microsoft Office softwareLean Manufacturing and Six Sigma training a plusProficient in AutoCAD or Solid WorksLead and assist all CapEx projects related to manufacturing equipmentLeadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.Planning: an ability to think ahead and plan over a 30-day time span and prepare action plans to achieve these resultsDaily measurement of performance to goals and standardsAn ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost, and Associate relationsSystems and continuous improvement orientationQuality orientation and attention to detailProblem analysis and resolutionStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAn ability to manage multiple prioritiesStrong team playerProficiency in Microsoft OfficeLeadership Attributes:At Wabash, we pride ourselves on being empowering, and there are some things we feel very strongly about:Embrace Diversity and Inclusion -- Solicit and respect the input of others, celebrate differences, and strive for transparency and inclusivenessSeek to Listen -- Actively listen to reach the best solution and make the strongest decisionsAlways Learn -- Strive to improve; do not quit or settle for the status quoBe Authentic -- Demonstrate honesty, incredible energy, and grit in everything you doWin Together -- Collaborate, seek alignment, and excel at cross-group communication to success as one team and One WabashJoin us in turning ideas into world-changing realities.
