Medical Staff Coord-Medical Staff, Full Time, Day Shift

JOB TITLE : Medical Staff Coordinator

REPORTS TO : Manager, Medical Staff Services

POSITION SUMMARY : Provides support and coordination for medical staff services, including, meeting preparation and provider credentialing when requested. Maintains a productive, professional relationship with all levels of staff and physicians. Performs diversified duties of considerable responsibility under minimal supervision in an accurate and timely fashion. Performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE : High school diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelor's degree is preferred. Minimum of two years of medical staff experience in a hospital setting is preferred. Medical terminology helpful. Moderate skills required for statistical evaluations. Basic computer skills, data entry experience and accurate typing skills required. Typing at 50+ wpm. Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel required. Credentialing software experience preferred. Must have ability to take shorthand or fast notes for minute taking at meetings. Must be able to function under stress and conditions of frequent interruptions. Ability to maintain effective and efficient working relationships with physicians, administration and other departments.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Certification or eligibility for certification as a Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) within 36 months of hire is preferred.
