Opportunities exist for motivated Registered Respiratory Therapists (and Certified Respiratory Therapy Technicians) with the skills to provide a high level of quality service in a variety of settings including the ED, Trauma and Critical Care. Summary Serves as resource and mentor for less experienced therapists providing care for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. Responsibilities Maintains requirements of Clinical Ladder. Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices. Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources. Assists with providing staff education. Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care. Monitors, documents, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance. Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment. Other Information: Additional Education Info: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program. Additional Credential Info: Can be licensed as RT or TT. National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) credential is preferred. Department Specific Credentials: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) for NICU, - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) for Pediatric areas- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) for Adult areas.
