The Opportunity AWT's Grand Blanc, MI facility is searching for an Product Engineer to drive product and process excellence across the full product lifecycle, from costing and launch through quality resolution and continuous improvement. This role serves as a key technical resource for internal teams and external customers—providing expertise in material selection, product design, and production troubleshooting—while leading or supporting R&D initiatives such as cost savings, new product development, and process optimization to advance the organization's engineering and manufacturing capabilities What You'll Do Technical resource for customer facing interactions Accurate product costing (estimating) and meeting quote TAT goals Participate with Sales team in customer interactions, support customer PTR’s and trouble-shooting as needed Identify and propose customer cost savings and new product opportunities Develop and submit supplier initiated change requests “SCR”. Manage change control process until SCR is approved and reassigned to the mfg. engineer Fulfill sample production and PTR requests from sales to support growth efforts Technical Research & Development Technical reviews for application related topics e.g., understanding specifications, customer requirements, material recommendations, construction methods Product launch and production support e.g.; Part setup and standards, BOM/MOM, PTR support, tooling and plates, re-tools, work instructions, troubleshooting. Develop internal costs savings ideas from: Equipment, new materials, new construction or design, new technological drivers, industry benchmarks Propose product improvement opportunities while maintaining or increasing performance (e.g., adhesive, lacquers, ink technology) Growth Support Maintain status tracking for key customer SCR initiatives Key customer interface for technical issues including on site visits to the customer Provide cost estimates for quote opportunities and contract extensions Evaluate and support implementation of new production equipment New product development/application, hardware and systems Process Leadership Process lead for selected Engineering team processes with responsibility for process execution, process improvements and metrics reporting What You Bring Bachelor's degree required, Chemical or Mechanical preferred. 5+ years of engineering experience in a related manufacturing/product environment Expertise in label and die-cut materials, manufacturing, and end-use applications Strong ability to interpret and develop technical specifications Data-driven analytical skills with proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, CAD, and statistics Proven project management skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and customer focus Excellent written and verbal communication skills Willingness to travel up to 30% Why AWT Join a growing, globally-connected converting business where your technical expertise directly shapes customer solutions and product innovation — with real ownership over projects from concept to production. #J-18808-Ljbffr AWT Labels & Packaging
