Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Specialist
Location: Fredericktown, MO
Full-Time: Non-Exempt - 40 hours/week
Base Pay : $20.00 - 22.40/hour, depending on experience
The PSR program is open six (6) days a week, Monday - Saturday. As a Specialist, your typical work day is from 8:00am-4:30pm M-F, there is one evening shift a week (approx. 7:30pm), and staff rotate Saturday (8a-4:30p) coverages.
What is PSR?
The Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) programs in the counties of Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Madison, Perry and Ste. Genevieve provide a variety of supportive and rehabilitative services to individuals living with chronic mental illnesses. PSR offers opportunities for educational, career, social and recreational activities on site and in the community. The program serves adult clients 18 years of age or older and operates five or more days each week, and with evening activities often planned. Vans owned by the Center transport members to the PSR and for the community based activities.
Your Job as a Specialist:
You would be responsible for the delivery of rehabilitative services including: community living skills training, recreation / socialization services, pre-vocational skills development, client and family support, and educational assistance. You would also be required to drive the companies 15 passenger van to pick up / drop off consumers at the beginning and end of the day. In this position, you would work with a wide variety of people where no two days are the same.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher from accredited university; or
- Any four-year combination of higher education and qualifying experience; or
- Four years of qualifying experience. - Qualifying experience must include delivery of service to individuals with mental illness, substance abuse disorders, or developmental disabilities.
- Must hold or obtain by start date, MO Class E Driver's License (Class D for IL Residents), and proof of continuous auto insurance. Must also meet CCC's Motor Vehicle Record standards policy and have reliable transportation.
- Must work flexible schedule which includes some weekends and evenings.
Essential Functions:
- Participate in initial screening to evaluate appropriateness of clients referred for PSR services.
- Participate in development of client's individual treatment plan.
- Provide transportation to and from community facilities and resources..
- Provide daily living skills training including assistance in nutrition, financial and home management, accessing community resources, recreation, pre-vocational services, development of support systems, diagnosis and medication management, etc. .
- Provide crisis intervention services for clients enrolled in PSR services as needed.
- Monitor and assist client with program compliance.
- Document according to clinical policies and procedures, DMH, CARF, and any other federal or state program per agency standards.
Non Essential Functions:
- Maintain compliance with all policy and procedures.
- Complete all required training.
- Work cooperatively with other departments and members of the community.
- Participate in all required meetings as determined by supervisor.
- Maintain positive attitude toward agency and clientele.
- Other duties as assigned.
