Job Summary

The Dual Shield Flux Core Welder requires proficiency welding with .045 flux core wire in the 2G, 3G, and 4G positions, producing structurally sound welds on heavy steel assemblies used in steel fabrication.

Key Responsibilities

·       Perform dual shield flux core welding using .045 wire on steel components and structural assemblies.

·       Weld confidently in 2G, 3G, and 4G positions with consistent penetration and bead quality.

·       Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings to execute precise welds.

·       Prep, fit, bevel, and clean materials to ensure proper joint integrity.

·       Conduct self‐inspection of welds and collaborate with QA to meet quality standards.

·       Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all company and OSHA safety protocols.

·       Support production goals by working efficiently and communicating with fabrication teams.

Qualifications

·       Minimum 3+ years of flux core welding experience; dual shield preferred.

·       Demonstrated proficiency welding with .045 flux core wire.

·       Ability to perform high‐quality welds in 2G, 3G, and 4G positions.

·       Strong understanding of weld quality, defect prevention, and structural requirements.

·       Ability to lift 50lbs and work in a physically demanding fabrication environment.

·       Commitment to safety, teamwork, and consistent production output.

Preferred Qualifications

·       Experience in structural fabrication or heavy industrial welding.

·       Familiarity with thicker plate materials (3⁄8"–1").

·       Ability to operate fabrication tools (grinders, torches, bevelers, etc.).
