Our client is a global leader in industrial automation, robotics, motion control, and advanced manufacturing technologies serving some of the world's most innovative industries. As the organization continues a significant North American expansion, they are seeking a Senior EHS Manager to lead Environmental, Health, Safety, and Risk Management initiatives across a growing manufacturing enterprise.

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations, this individual will serve as a strategic business partner responsible for helping shape the future of safety, operational excellence, automation deployment, workforce development, and manufacturing growth.

The Opportunity:
The Senior EHS Manager will lead Environmental, Health, Safety, and Risk Management initiatives while serving as an influential member of the broader Operations leadership team.

This individual will be responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance, developing safety strategy, evaluating operational risks, improving organizational performance, supporting future growth initiatives, and helping shape the long-term direction of the EHS function.

Success in this role requires someone who can comfortably move between executive-level discussions, manufacturing operations, employee engagement, incident investigations, risk analysis, organizational development, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic EHS Leadership

• Lead Environmental, Health, Safety, and Risk Management strategy across a multi-site manufacturing organization.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to executive and operational leadership regarding safety performance, compliance, and risk management.
• Develop long-term EHS strategies that support organizational growth and operational excellence.
• Utilize leading indicators, trend analysis, and proactive risk assessment methodologies to identify opportunities for improvement.

Safety Program Development

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS policies, systems, procedures, and programs.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective action planning, and risk mitigation efforts.
• Conduct hazard assessments and support organization-wide safety initiatives.
• Drive employee engagement and ownership in safety performance.

Operational Risk & Future Manufacturing Support

• Support expansion initiatives involving automation, robotics, autonomous material handling systems, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Facilities, and Quality teams to identify and mitigate emerging risks.
• Provide leadership on capital projects and future manufacturing initiatives.

Environmental & Compliance Leadership

• Support environmental compliance initiatives and evolving regulatory requirements.
• Assist with sustainability efforts, environmental reporting, and customer compliance requests.
• Monitor emerging environmental regulations and industry trends.

Organizational Development

• Help shape the future structure of the EHS organization.
• Identify staffing, resource, and capability needs as the business continues to grow.
• Mentor and develop future EHS talent.
• Serve as a trusted business partner throughout the organization.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Environmental Science, Business, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of progressive leadership experience within EHS, Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Facilities, or related industrial environments.
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations within a complex industrial setting.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety programs, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and regulatory compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, lead change, and build organizational trust.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

• Multi-site EHS leadership experience.
• Experience supporting advanced manufacturing, robotics, automation, or highly engineered products.
• Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence experience.
• Experience building programs, systems, and organizational capabilities from the ground up.
• CSP, CIH, CHMM, or other related certifications.

Multi-Site Responsibility & Travel:
This position supports a diverse manufacturing footprint and is ideal for a leader who enjoys engaging directly with operations.

While the role will work closely with the organization's largest manufacturing operations, it also provides oversight and influence across multiple facilities supporting manufacturing, engineering, warehouse, service, and operational activities.

Travel is generally moderate and consists primarily of visits to operational locations, leadership meetings, audits, assessments, and relationship-building activities. Most travel is expected to be domestic and can often be accomplished through short trips.

The successful candidate will enjoy getting out from behind the desk and partnering directly with leaders and employees throughout the organization.
