Bus Driver Trainee

School Bus Driver Trainee
BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Director of Transportation or designee, receives instruction for the purpose of acquiring the necessary skills to safely and effectively operate a school bus with designated routes within established time schedules. This position is distinguished from the Bus Driver classification such that the Trainee position will be learning the primary duties of and working towards full certification and licensure to become a qualified School Bus Driver.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: This is a training program, no experience required. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY: Valid California Driver's License. Copy of DMV driving record. REQUIREMENTS TO START TRAINING: Live Scan. Pre-employment (PEP) strength test. Tuberculosis Examination. DMV/DOT Medical Examination. Class B Permit w/ PS Endorsements. ALL INTERESTED APPLICANTS WILL BE INVITED TO AN INFORMATIONAL MEETING. THE NEXT TRAINING CLASS IS ANTICIPATED TO START IN OCTOBER 2026.
