For over 50 years, Bay Area Circuits has supplied printed circuit boards to electronics manufacturers, design engineers, and contract assemblers in Silicon Valley and beyond.

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Via Fill & Etching Operator to join our production team. This part-time position supports PCB manufacturing through via filling, planarizing, copper etching, resist and tin stripping, cleaning, and baking.

The ideal candidate takes pride in quality workmanship, follows established procedures, and is willing to learn. Previous PCB manufacturing experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor via fill equipment to apply epoxy paste to PCB production panels.
• Operate planarizing equipment to remove excess fill material and prepare panel surfaces for further processing.
• Operate and monitor inner-layer and outer-layer copper etching equipment, along with resist and tin stripping processes.
• Operate ovens and follow specified baking and curing procedures.
• Review job travelers, fabrication drawings, and work instructions before processing each job.
• Monitor equipment settings and process parameters to ensure consistent results.
• Perform routine chemical checks, additions, and bath maintenance as trained and authorized.
• Inspect holes, traces, copper thickness, and panel surfaces using magnifiers, light tables, measuring scopes, and copper thickness measurement equipment, as applicable.
• Complete required inspections according to established quality procedures and applicable customer and IPC requirements.
• Maintain accurate production records, process logs, and inspection results.
• Perform routine equipment cleaning and operator maintenance, and report equipment or quality concerns promptly.
• Follow chemical handling, personal protective equipment, and waste handling procedures.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.

Qualifications

• Experience in PCB manufacturing, via filling, etching, or a related manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Willingness to learn and the ability to follow written manufacturing and safety instructions.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings and process documentation, or a willingness to develop these skills.
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination.
• Basic math skills and accurate recordkeeping.
• Reliable attendance and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Availability to work the agreed part-time schedule.

Work Environment

This position involves working on a manufacturing production floor near chemical processing lines, ovens, and moving equipment. Duties include standing and walking for extended periods, handling PCB production panels, and wearing required protective equipment. Essential job functions may be performed with reasonable accommodation.
