Schedule Varies | Assisted Living Home | Medford, NJ

$18.20 per hour - $21.83 per hour (based on experience)

We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Bus Driver to transport residents to scheduled appointments, activities, and community outings.


Shifts/Schedule Varies:

Strictly Per Diem on an "As Needed" Basis - Day Shift and Evening Shifts


Rate:

$18.20/hr - $21.83/hr (based on experience)

Responsibilities:

• Maintains records of scheduled bus trips and reports for duty as assigned.
• Maintains flexible work hours to accommodate a broad range of time frames.
• Inspects vehicle for any visual defects and checks operating systems before starting trip.
• Meets organizational and regulatory compliance standards, adheres to safety standards and completes required mandatory training and testing.
• Observes all state and city speed and safety regulations.
• Maintains communication with facility while transporting residents. Checks out cell phone prior to leaving facility and carries phone when away from vehicle.
• Helps residents on & off the bus and assists with packages.
• Completes incident report if problem occurs.
• Keeps log book, noting names of residents riding bus & making sure all are present for return trip.
• Completes work order as needed for specially organized resident trips.
• Has the bus available 15 minutes ahead of scheduled departure.
• Has bus cleaned up and disposes of trash immediately after each run.
• Is able to perform duties with minimal supervision.

License and Regulatory Requirements:
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must obtain all required annual industry related / regulatory immunizations (including completion of the annual TB Assessment) and provide documentation of same
• Must complete mandatory training as required
• Must maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and demonstrate proof of a safe driving record
• Must be able to make appropriate decisions regarding safety issues

Education/Experience Requirements:

• Must possess as a minimum a high school diploma or its equivalent along with certification as an activity aide or be eligible to become certified.
• Must possess a class C driver's license
• Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required
• Ability to speak, write, read and understand English.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and direct activities.
• Able to to make mature judgements in personnel matters, health & safety issues and crisis situations.
• Self motivated, self starter needing no supervision.
• Must possess ability to deal tactfully with with personnel, residents family members & visitors.

Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:
• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, bending and stooping.
• Job requires occasional exposure to hot humid environments; cold environments
• Work involves retrieval of items from bus
• Driving, loading people onto the van or bus.
• Duties involve dexterity of hands and fingers for varied activities.
• Job requires continuous talking, hearing ordinary conversations and seeing with near /far vision.
• Must be able to follow oral and written directions.
