Position Title : Assistant or Associate Professor of Architecture & Design Department : 2110|School of Architecture/Design Overview The School of Architecture and Design at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette invites applications for a full‑time, tenure‑track, 9‑month appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. This position requires a probationary period before tenure consideration, based on performance and potential. Candidates must have a strong academic record and an appropriate terminal degree. The typical teaching load per semester includes 6 credit hours of studio instruction and 3 credit hours of support course instruction, with final workload percentages for research, teaching, and service determined in the first semester of hire. As the largest school in the College of the Arts, the School of Architecture and Design offers nationally accredited programs in Architecture, Interior Design, and Industrial Design. Responsibilities Teach undergraduate and graduate lecture and studio courses as suited to the candidate's experience and expertise. Enhance the School’s curriculum and course offerings in the studio design sequence. Establish a rigorous research agenda. Provide guidance and leadership in fostering a welcoming and supportive learning environment for all students. Contribute to committee tasks, advise students, and engage in service activities that advance the mission of the Program, School, College, and the University. Salary Range The salary will be commensurate with experience. Start‑up Funds Start‑up funds may be available. These are to be used in alignment with the Program vision for the next 5 years as it relates to this job description and the successful candidate’s research agenda. Proficiency in studio education, adeptly integrating both manual techniques and digital technologies (e.g., Rhino3D, Revit) to provide a comprehensive learning experience for students.
