CUSTOMER SERVICE SPECIALIST

Job Details Job Location: Legal Address - South Jordan, UT 84095 Position Type: Full Time Base pay up to $19.25 per hour (DOE). Up to $500 monthly performance bonus. $500 retention bonus after 6 months. Shift will be 9:30am‑6:00pm, Monday through Friday (Training hours are M‑F, 8:00‑5:00pm). Role Overview As Alpha Warranty’s Customer Service Representative – Claims Specialist, you are the advocate for our customers during the vehicle repair claim process. You work with them by phone, email, and chat messaging to ensure an understanding of their service contract coverage benefits and claim status while accurately recording notes of the call in our system. Every interaction is an opportunity to empower customers with information and manage dissatisfaction with professionalism, empathy, and resilience. Key Responsibilities Work with customers across phone, email, and chat to explain coverage benefits and claim status. Document all customer interactions accurately in the system. De‑escalate strong emotions and effectively communicate coverage decisions. Collaborate with internal departments, such as Sales, to resolve customer concerns. Use available resources and problem solving to support the claim process. Provide innovative solutions to challenging problems whenever possible. Perform other responsibilities and projects as assigned by your manager. Qualifications What Alpha Warranty will love about you: Customer‑facing service experience is required. At least 1 year of call center experience is required. Clear and professional verbal and written English communication skills. Bilingual Spanish or Portuguese and English skills are highly valued, but not required. Comfort navigating current technology such as computers, phones, internet, and software. Accurate typing skills with a speed of at least 30 words per minute. Emotional resilience, empathy, and active listening skills. High‑quality results with strong attention to detail. Thoughtful problem‑solving skills, good judgment, and the willingness to find solutions. Ability to collaborate with others and step up when extra help is needed. Capacity to embrace change and new opportunities. Vehicle repair experience, knowledge, or interest is a huge plus, but not required. High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
