Job Opportunity – Critical Care Unit (CCU) Registered Nurse – Alabama

Start Date: October 12, 2026

Location: Dothan, Alabama

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 36 or 48 hours per week based on traveler preference; block scheduling available; every other weekend required; 13-week contract (ends on a Tuesday)

Highlights:

• Level II Trauma Center with 32-bed Critical Care Unit serving medical-surgical and trauma patients
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 depending on acuity
• Epic EMR system (preferred experience)
• Ventilator management and critical care skills required, including arterial lines, central lines, vasoactive drips, and dysrhythmia management
• Orientation provided every other Monday with 16 hours of onboarding support
• First-time travelers accepted if experienced in high-acuity ICU settings

Requirements:

• Active Alabama RN license or Compact license in good standing at time of submission (no pending applications)
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience required (1 year may be considered from high-acuity or busy ICU environments)
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Ventilator management experience required
• Experience with arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, IV sedation, cardiac drips, and vasoactive medication titration
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical and religious exemptions accepted with documentation for COVID-19; no exemptions for Flu)
• Permanent address must be at least 75–90 miles from facility location
• Compliance documentation due one week prior to start date
• Pre-start modules required (non-billable)
