Registered Nurse - Hospice Home Care

Job Description

Shift:  Days

Status: 24 hours per week

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Works under the supervision of the hospice and/or palliative care at home manager. Provides nursing care to hospice and/or palliative care at home patients in accordance with the hospice and palliative care at home concept of care. Assumes managerial responsibilities in the absence of the hospice and/or palliative care at home manager.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Requires graduation from an accredited school of nursing, and current Michigan licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Hospice and/or palliative care at home certification preferred.
• A working knowledge of current pain and symptom management, and experience appropriate to the needs of hospice and palliative care at home patients and their families is preferred.
• Requires interpersonal skills to present a positive image of hospice and palliative care at home to those who are referred to the program.
• Requires the ability to be flexible in adapting policies and procedures to meet the needs presented by hospice and palliative care at home patients and families.
• Requires a valid drivers' license, an acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

Michigan licensure as a Registered Nurse.
