Azure Data Engineer

Responsibilities
\n \nCloud Data Engineering & Migration
\n-Design and implement scalable Azure-based data solutions supporting enterprise modernization initiatives.
\n-Analyze legacy Mainframe data structures, files, and processing workflows.
\n-Develop and execute data migration strategies from Mainframe platforms to Azure Cloud.
\n-Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and loading.
\n-Support batch modernization and data integration requirements.
\n-Ensure successful migration of historical and operational data with minimal business disruption.
\nAzure Platform Engineering
\n-Develop solutions using Azure PaaS services, including:
\n-Azure Data Factory (ADF)
\n-Azure Databricks
\n-Azure Synapse Analytics
\n-Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2
\n-Azure SQL Database
\n-Azure Functions
\n-Azure Logic Apps
\n-Implement cloud-native data architectures aligned with Azure best practices.
\n-Optimize performance, scalability, and cost efficiency of Azure data -platforms.
\nData Management & Governance
\n-Ensure data quality, integrity, lineage, and governance standards.
\n-Implement security controls following enterprise and regulatory requirements.
\n-Establish monitoring, logging, and operational support processes.
\n-Support data validation, reconciliation, and testing activities during -migration phases.
\nCollaboration & Delivery
\n-Collaborate with enterprise architects, application teams, business analysts, and infrastructure teams.
\n-Participate in solution design reviews and technical workshops.
\n-Document technical designs, migration approaches, and deployment procedures.
\n-Support Agile delivery methodologies and project milestones.
\n \nSkills Must have
\n \nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
\n5+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
\n3+ years of hands-on Azure Cloud experience.
\nExperience with large-scale data migration or modernization projects.
\nStrong knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse Analytics, and Data Lake.
\nStrong SQL development and performance tuning skills.
\nExperience developing ETL/ELT data pipelines.
\nUnderstanding of cloud security and governance principles.
\nExperience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
\nExcellent problem-solving and communication skills.
\n \nNice to have
\n \n \nExperience in Mainframe modernization programs.
\nKnowledge of Mainframe technologies such as:
\nCOBOL
\nJCL
\nVSAM
\nDB2
\nIMS
\nCICS
\nExperience with modernization tools and migration frameworks.
\nFamiliarity with event-driven and serverless architectures.
\nExperience working in enterprise-scale Azure environments.
\nAzure certifications are highly desirable:
\nMicrosoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203)
\nMicrosoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
\nMicrosoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
