Cabling Technician
Location: Wink, Texas (Onsite)
Role Overview
We are seeking Cable Deployment Technicians to support the buildout and expansion of a large-scale data infrastructure campus in West Texas. This is an opportunity to join a team responsible for installing, deploying, and maintaining the physical network infrastructure that powers mission-critical environments. Candidates with experience in structured cabling, fiber, copper, low-voltage systems, telecommunications, industrial construction, or data centers are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Move and implement large enterprise equipment.
- Install, route, and secure fiber optic and copper cabling.
- Perform patching activities between equipment and within server racks.
- Ensure safety and security standards are maintained during cabling and rack installation.
- Follow established hardware installation procedures and break-fix activities.
- Safely use material handling tools and equipment.
- Support server rack and network equipment deployments.
- Assist with infrastructure inventory and materials tracking.
- Work alongside deployment teams, field technicians, and project leadership.
- Follow ticketing systems and workflow processes to complete assigned work.
- Maintain accurate documentation and status updates.
Required Qualifications
- Comfortable working in a large construction or data center environment.
- Ability to pull cable and perform physical work.
- A strong mindset for safety.
- Reliable transportation to the worksite in Wink, TX.
- Ability to interpret work instructions, construction drawings, or cable layouts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience installing structured cabling or low-voltage systems.
- Experience working with fiber optic and copper infrastructure.
- Telecommunications or network deployment experience.
- Backgrounds in construction, electrical, industrial, utility, or oil and gas.
- Experience working from scissor lifts, elevated work platforms, or aerial lifts.
- Experience with cable testing and validation.
- Copper termination experience.
Shift Information
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
- Rotation Schedule: Sunday - Wednesday and Wednesday - Saturday
Safety and Physical Requirements
This role may involve standing and walking for extended periods, and lifting and moving infrastructure materials in active construction and operational environments. Adherence to all safety procedures and use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
