Job Title: Lab Technician Job Description

The primary responsibility of this position is to perform technical activities in the laboratory related to tests on human specimens. The role requires recording laboratory data while working under the guidance of a California-licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist.

• Assist in specimen testing under direct and constant supervision, following established procedures and complying with California regulatory restrictions.
• Utilize automated and digital devices, such as timers or thermometers, to perform tasks.
• Record dates of receipt, usage, and expiration for all reagents, kits, controls, and standards used for assigned assays, ensuring materials are not expired prior to use.
• Pipette using pre-set, calibrated, and approved automatic devices or fixed volume dispensers.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment under direct supervision, document maintenance appropriately, make minor repairs, and immediately contact appropriate personnel for complex repairs.
• Develop a growing understanding of laboratory medicine and the clinical significance of laboratory procedures in adherence to standard operating procedures and safety requirements.
• Document all activities using good documentation practices, including preventative maintenance logs, instrument function checks, troubleshooting, and quality control to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Follow any other job-related instructions and perform any other job-related duties requested by department management.

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology or related fields of science from an accredited institution, including a minimum of 12 semester hours of chemistry, preferably with at least one course in organic chemistry.
• Previous laboratory experience in an academic or commercial environment is preferred, though not required.

This position involves physical demands such as utilizing fingers and hands, standing for extended periods, sitting in a normal seated position, and handling tasks that require seizing, holding, and grasping. The work environment includes regular exposure to potential blood-borne pathogens, toxic or caustic chemicals, and radiation. The role offers opportunities for growth and development within a large healthcare/laboratory facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Agoura Hills, CA.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Agoura Hills,CA.
