Store Manager in Training

Compensation Pay Range: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Premiums may be paid in amounts ranging per hour in specific circumstances and may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met. Responsibilities Assist the store manager in sales, appearance, and overall operations of the store. Provide hands‑on training toward a management position in another store or future location. Supervise the professional and retail operations of the store and team members. Oversee all delivery and installer service specialists. Oversee all parts and merchandising specialists. Work with the district and store manager to recruit, test, hire, evaluate, promote, discipline, and discharge team members. Communicate all information from the Team Weekly and Monthly Store Manager meetings to all team members. Train new team members assigned to the assistant manager. Handle team member performance evaluations and recommend pay increases. Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management for qualified hires. Support the store manager by working with the assistant management team to ensure safety compliance and staff training. Monitor and reinforce safety expectations. Make sales calls with or without the store manager. Schedule and conduct weekly customer calls as assigned. Maintain the delivery fleet and record keeping for each vehicle. Ensure the store/HUB store is neat, clean, and organized at all times. Utilize electronic scheduling, clock‑in, and payroll entry functions. Manage key components of gross profit and monitor professional customer returns for core and warranty abuse. Review competitive price matches and price overrides for proper use. Review individual team member productivity and KPI dashboard daily. Review monthly P&L statement with the store manager and discuss opportunities for improvement. Qualifications High School Diploma. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. Completion of Assistant Manager Certification, Sales Specialist Training, and Manager Development Program. Ability to read and match numerical and alpha characters quickly and accurately. Knowledge of automotive parts, equipment, and systems. Desired Skills and Experience Experience in O’Reilly store and/or distribution center operations. Completion of O’Reilly management training program. Advanced computer skills. ASE Certification.
