Electrical Design Engineer

Our client, a leader in medical device innovation, is seeking a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer to join their team. As a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting product development and innovation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for creating impactful solutions that enhance patient care and safety. Job Title: Senior Principal Electrical Engineer Location: Round Lake, IL. HYBRID (onsite 3 days a week) Pay Range: Depends on Experience What's the Job? Define design requirements and hardware specifications based on customer or user needs. Contribute to the development and documentation of electronic system architectures. Create designs of analog and digital electronic circuit schematics for microcontroller-based systems, ensuring performance objectives are met. Analyze circuits using calculation and simulation methods to assess performance limits, environmental effects, and timing interfaces for safety-critical applications. Ensure successful integration of electrical design with mechanical and software components of the system. What's Needed? Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Electrical, Electronics, or related Engineering field with 15 years of experience. Prior experience in infusion pump domain or highly regulated products is a plus. Proven track record in electromechanical hardware development, especially in medical devices or similar sectors. Expertise in designing embedded microcontroller-based electronics, including FPGA-based, digital, and analog design. Experience testing electronic devices to meet immunity and emissions standards, with knowledge of CAD systems like Altium Designer, MATLAB, and data acquisition software such as LabVIEW.
