Due to continued growth, we are looking to add a Shop Assistant to our Baltimore, MD location. In this role, you will assist in the delivery of tools and materials to jobsites and support the day-to-day maintenance of the shop. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, solid mechanical aptitude, a team-oriented mindset, and a commitment to safety and quality in everything you do.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure material is available for the local shop.
• Prepare each job in accordance with the fabrication list or verbal/written instructions.
• Operate shop equipment and machinery in accordance with safety requirements.
• Test and maintain fire extinguishers as required.
• Report discrepancies to management in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times.
• Assist the Shop Foreman as required.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience in a shop setting is a plus.
• Previous experience testing and maintaining fire extinguishers preferred.
• Strong mathematical skills with the ability to read a tape measure and add/subtract fractions.
• Strong communication, organizational, reading, and time management skills.
• Ability to drive a forklift.
• Valid driver's license required.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

• Shop environment with exposure to outside elements during all seasons.
• Ability to climb ladders up to 6 feet.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds assisted (with another person or mechanical assistance).
• Regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, and material handling throughout the workday.

The salary for this role is $45,000 to $63,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
