Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

As a Sign Language Interpreter, you’ll play a vital role in a student's daily success, working in person within an engaging school community. Your expertise will be crucial in interpreting classroom lessons, activities, and social interactions, fostering both learning and confidence in your assigned student.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current certification/licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI)
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Prior experience in a K-12 or educational setting, preferably working 1:1 with elementary students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to working in person throughout the school year
- Ability to collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to ensure a supportive learning experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 interpretation services for an elementary student in all school-related settings
- Accurately facilitate the flow of communication between the student, peers, and staff
- Support the student's engagement during lesson instruction, group activities, and transitions
- Assure confidentiality and uphold professional conduct in accordance with ethical standards
- Work closely with teachers and staff to adapt to varying classroom needs
