Sr Advanced Process Engineer

Job Description:Position Summary:The Senior Advanced Process Engineer (Extrusion) is responsible for providing technical leadership and support to Cooper Standard manufacturing facilities in all aspects of extrusion processing and technology. This position drives the standardization and continuous improvement of extrusion processes across product lines, focusing on production performance, process capability, quality, energy efficiency, and cost optimization. Responsibilities include the development and maintenance of global extrusion standards, equipment and tooling specifications, process parameters, and the implementation of best practices throughout Cooper Standard. This role works closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, Finance, Purchasing, and Program Management to support operational excellence, capacity expansion, new product launches, and strategic business objectives.Primary Responsibilities:Works closely with Cooper Standard’s manufacturing facilities to reduce cost, improve quality andachieve advancements in both process and product technologyLeads the research and implementation of new or improved equipment/tooling/processes to satisfychanging production requirements. Works with outside machinery suppliers, machine shops, plantengineering and maintenance in these effortsAssists in the validation of new processes as necessary. May be required to obtain/negotiate approval orrevisions to customer product specificationsInitiates projects and tasks through creative insight, leveraging manufacturing and product knowledgeConfirms feasibility/capability of proposed product/process improvements using statistical methodsAssists in the transfer of product and process between manufacturing facilitiesFor assigned technologies, will act as communicative link between CS technical and manufacturing sites,including other global regions, for the purpose of process development, best practice exchange,standardization, etc.Keeps current on developments related to manufacturing and product technology through meetingswith suppliers, customers, trade publications, etc.May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this descriptionEducation and Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree is preferredTypically has three plus years of experienceAbility to solve problems and take a new perspective using existing solutionsAbility to work independently and act as a resource for colleaguesStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex conceptsProficient in Microsoft OfficeDemonstrated proactive task approachWillingness and ability to travel, as necessaryWork Environment/Work Conditions:Professional Office EnvironmentMust wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturing floorFrequent domestic and international travel required.
