DOSE EPIDEMIOLOGIST ((Epidemiologist I))

Responsibilities This position supports and enhances public health surveillance and detection capacities of the Office of Preparedness and Response (OP&R) by participating in biosurveillance and other drug overdose monitoring and analysis activities as part of the Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) program. It includes partnering and collaborating with other epidemiologists working on overdose data across agencies to meet monthly and annual data reporting requirements to the OD2A DOSE program and regular collaboration with overdose prevention and response teams. This position is considered Emergency Essential, functions on a 24/7 status, may need to respond to public health or other emergencies and provide own transportation. It is eligible for telework per the Director of OP&R's leadership and employees must adhere to the current MDH and OP&R telework policy. Qualifications Master's degree in Public Health from an accredited university with a minimum of three graduate courses in Epidemiology and one in Biostatistics. No specific experience required, but U.S. Armed Forces military service in Health Care Science classifications or related specialty codes may substitute for the required education. Desired: experience cleaning and analyzing large data sets, and developing presentations and reports.
