Position Overview

Our client, a rail and transit specialist delivering infrastructure projects for the MTA and other transit agencies, is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations on rail, transit, and civil infrastructure projects, ensuring work is executed safely, on schedule, and to specification. Key Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise field crews, equipment, and subcontractors on active rail and transit sites.
• Coordinate daily work plans with the Project Manager, project engineers, and MTA representatives.
• Plan and manage track outages, work windows, and right-of-way access to minimize service disruption.
• Enforce jobsite safety programs, including MTA/agency-specific safety protocols, and ensure OSHA compliance.
• Monitor productivity, quality control, and adherence to plans, specifications, and transit agency standards.
• Coordinate material, equipment, and work-train/MOW equipment deliveries to keep work on schedule.
• Liaise with MTA inspectors, flaggers, and track access coordinators to maintain safe, compliant operations.
• Lead daily toolbox talks and safety meetings, including track safety briefings.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of field supervision experience in heavy civil, rail, or transit construction.
• Direct experience on MTA or other transit agency projects strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of track, signal, and transit infrastructure means and methods.
• OSHA 30 certification required; MTA/agency safety certifications (e.g., Roadway Worker Protection or equivalent) a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret track, civil, and structural drawings and specifications.
• Comfortable working nights, weekends, and off-peak shifts to align with track access windows.
