Bowditch & Dewey is seeking an experienced, team-oriented associate for our Employment Practice Area. The associate assists and supports the assigning attorney(s) in the practice in a mix of litigation, counseling, drafting, investigations and training matters. This position may reside in our Boston, Southborough or Worcester office. The role offers a hybrid schedule with three in office days. This is a full-time position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Drafting and revising employment policies, handbooks, employment agreements, separation agreements, settlement agreements and employment releases Providing counseling to employers on all HR and employment compliance matters Litigating employment cases, including wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, retaliation and wage and hours matters Drafting of pleadings, motions, briefs, and correspondence Assisting in all phases of litigation including arguing and defending motions, taking and defending depositions and participating in mediations, arbitrations and trials Preparing, reviewing and analyzing voluminous discovery productions and identifying key documents Communicating with clients, analyzing client needs, providing sound legal and client centric advice, and status updates Providing status updates to the assigning attorney(s) Other related duties as required.

Qualifications and Requirements: Three (3) – eight (8) years of experience in an employment practice area Proven experience in representing employers, large and small, in various employment disputes Strong academic background with a Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school. Licensed to practice law in the state of Massachusetts. (Member of the Massachusetts Bar) (Multiple state Bar admissions are a plus) Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and strong proofreading skills Time management and multitasking abilities Strong research, writing, and verbal communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to work independently and effectively work as part of a larger team

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below and represents a reasonable estimate of the starting salary range. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related factors including experience, geographic location, external market data and our internal market.

Base compensation of $135,000 - $165,000; bonus eligible per our associate bonus policy
