Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant Job Description

IVI RMA North America, a leader in reproductive medicine, is seeking a Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant to support our growing Palo Alto practice. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a highly specialized clinical environment while making a meaningful impact on patients during an important and emotional chapter of their lives.

In this role, you'll work alongside physicians, nurses, and clinical staff to deliver compassionate, high-quality fertility care. We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented, patient-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced medical setting where teamwork and empathy are essential.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:30 PM, with rotating weekends and holidays.

The Clinical Assistant will promote and restore patients' health by assisting in the nursing process and supporting physicians and other multidisciplinary team members with hands-on patient care. You will help to create a positive experience for our patients and ensure that patients receive high-quality service by assisting clinical team with patient care.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities:

• Assist Physicians with clinical procedures
• Follow proper protocols for all procedures
• Practice phlebotomy
• Accurately document ultrasound measurements, provider comments and use appropriate stim templates while chaperoning ultrasounds.
• Clean exam rooms and equipment per protocol.
• Set up and stock examination and procedure rooms.
• Maintain clinical supplies inventory.
• Specimen collection, processing for in-house and outside laboratories.
• Manage Lanfax for outside labs, reports, results. Enter results and email to provider team for review.
• Provide patients with information regarding upcoming procedures and reassurance/comfort before, during and after procedures.

Academic Training:

• Completion of Certified Medical Assistant Program – preferred
• Phlebotomy Program – CPT-1 Required

Position Requirements/Experience:

• 6+ months experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician practice
• Prior experience in women's healthcare – preferred
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel – required
• EMR experience - preferred
