Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Hazard, Kentucky.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Telemetry\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/12/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 12, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 5\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a 13-week night shift contract requiring 2 years of recent MS/Tele experience and a KY or compact RN license.Details\n \n MS/Tele unit caring for short-stay MS/Tele and observation patients\n Patient ratio of 1:5-7\n Night shift schedule (3x12 and 4x12 rotating, 19:00-7:30)\n Rotating 36/48 schedule totaling 84 hours per two-week pay period\n Floating required within scope of practice\n Every other weekend required\n Meditech charting system preferred\n Requirements\n \n Active KY or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration\n Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AVADE Level I & II preferred)\n Minimum 2 years of recent MS/Tele or Tele experience required\n 3-6 months of Level IV Trauma or above experience required\n Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and IV therapy\n Experience with central line, peripheral line, and PICC line care/management\n Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration\n Experience managing cardiac drips, PCA, and epidural analgesia (without titration)\n Driver's license required for consideration, with address matching permanent address\n Two professional references required (one Charge or higher, one Supervisor), both completed within the last year\n Copy of certifications required for consideration\n Additional Information\n \n Care for patients with cardiac telemetry, renal, neurological, orthopedic, and cardiovascular conditions\n Support post-MI, pre/post cardiac catheterization, and sheath removal care\n Assist with post-TPA care and pre/post neurosurgery patients\n Manage isolation precautions, PPE, and wound care including wound vac\n Monitor chemotherapy administration as needed\n Flu vaccine required; medical and religious exemptions considered case-by-case\n Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 75 miles from the facility\n Up to 7 days of RTO considered if submitted upfront; no changes accepted once approved\n Must work a major or minor shift on every holiday\n Travelers must take a minimum 6-month break after completing one year with the health system before returning\n Traveler pairs accepted on a limited basis and will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit\n Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-751647.
