About the Position

License: Current Registered Nurse License in California Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Labor and Delivery experience - Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills - Culturally competent, age-appropriate ethical care Description: The Clinical Nurse (RN) is responsible and accountable for delivering safe, effective, and quality nursing care. Care is provided according to the philosophy and goals of the Department of Nursing. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for all patients assigned. Utilizing Jean Watson's Theory of Caring and Relationship Based Care is essential in practice. The RN makes determinations regarding the patient's progress toward goals. Effective communication is maintained with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Care is tailored to the specific physiologic, developmental, and psychosocial needs of the patient. The RN supports the mission, vision, values, and expectations of excellence in healthcare. Competence is demonstrated by the ability to apply scientific knowledge in practice. Care must be consistent with the interdisciplinary plan and grounded in Relationship Based Care. Continuous assessment of the patient's physical and psychosocial condition is necessary. The RN formulates a nursing diagnosis based on observations and information provided. Collaboration with the client is key in developing an individualized care plan. The RN ensures safety, comfort, hygiene, and protection in care delivery. Essential nursing skills are performed along with educating clients and families on health needs. The effectiveness of care plans is evaluated through ongoing observation and communication. A safe working knowledge of equipment, instrumentation, and medications is essential. The RN delegates tasks to care team members based on their capabilities and legal scopes of practice. Acting as the client’s advocate is crucial in improving health care decisions. Providing culturally competent care within legal standards is expected. The RN coordinates patient care activities, ensuring effective collaboration among healthcare professionals. Documentation of nursing care is completed according to organizational policies. The RN contributes to positive patient care experiences through individual interactions. Understanding the impact of personal behaviors on patient experience is essential. Assistance in resolving patient complaints with the goal of immediate resolution is required. The role encompasses investigating complaints and communicating them appropriately. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
