Weather Technician - SFRC Contract

Position Overview Amentum is seeking a Weather Systems Technician for the Space Force Range Contract. Responsibilities Operate, maintain, and repair Weather Tower instrumentation, Doppler Radar Wind Profilers, Lightning Detection systems, Rawinsonde/Radiosonde systems, and Ocean Surveillance Radar RF and control systems, subsystems and components. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of weather sensor and radar systems. Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with team members. Work independently and collaborate with team members as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Two or more years of applicable experience in electronics and electrical theory or related range experience. Associate degree in electronic technology, two‑year technical school, equivalent military experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Proficiency in computer operation and software systems to maximize productivity. Ability to use highly technical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, analyzers, and meters. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and procedures and communicate this information to coworkers. Capacity to learn from experienced Weather Systems Technicians. Valid U.S. Driver’s License. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required). Physical & Work Environment Requirements Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally travel to remote sites for maintenance. Climb Weather Towers up to 300 feet. Flexibility to work occasional non‑dutiful hours or weekends to support specific project or mission requirements. Compensation & Benefits Hourly salary range: $34.06 – $42.53, based on geography, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
