Staff Accountant

Role Overview
Techstra Solutions is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Accounting and Finance team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with a strong foundation in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records, supporting compliance with accounting policies, and contributing to process improvements across the finance function. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while working both independently and collaboratively. This position partners closely with Accounting and Finance leadership and other business stakeholders to ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately, issues are resolved promptly, and reporting deadlines are met.

• Assist with daily accounting activities and general ledger maintenance
• Process accounts payable invoices and assist with vendor payments
• Assist with accounts receivable, customer invoicing, and payment application
• Prepare bank, credit card, and other account reconciliations
• Track weekly hours submissions from employees and contractors
• Communicate with clients, vendors and internal team on a daily basis
• Resolve client and vendor invoicing questions and information requests
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Record journal entries and maintain supporting documentation
• Assist with reviewing and maintaining accounting records
• Research and resolve discrepancies in accounts and transactions
• Assist with financial reporting and preparation of management reports
• Maintain organized and accurate financial records
• Assist with payroll-related accounting and reconciliations as needed
• Help ensure transactions are properly coded to the appropriate accounts
• Assist with audits, tax-related requests, and other accounting projects
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Experience with QuickBooks Online
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas and spreadsheet functions
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently while also being a team player
• Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
