Who we are: We are a founder-led services company founded in 2016 that provides valet trash, doorstep collection, and other ancillary property services for apartment communities and HOAs across 15+ states. Most of our workforce runs part-time evening routes at apartment communities - about 1-2 hours a night, five nights a week. Role Overview As an HR Assistant, you will have various tasks and duties all related to the Human Resources and Recruitment functions of the business. Your role plays a crucial part in communicating important details to our associates across the workforce on a daily basis. Such HR tasks will include overseeing recruitment for part-time trash collection associates (e.g., Porters), as well as overseeing our onboarding process end-to-end for both full-time and part-time roles. In addition, you will assist our HR team with payroll system maintenance and implementation and assist with other HR special projects and tasks as needed and upon request. From a Recruitment / Recruiter Operations standpoint, you will own both ends of that pipeline: getting job ads live in the right markets, and turning the candidates you produce into porters who are trained and working. Our system does the qualifying in between. By the time a candidate hits your queue, we've confirmed they live inside a hiring radius, have a pickup truck, and agreed to the basics of the role. Reporting and Process You will report directly to our HR Manager with functional and day-to-day reporting to our HR Specialist sitting in the Charlotte, NC office. As an HR Assistant, you will help the HR Manager and HR Specialist execute on specialist projects and tasks as needed. You will oversee our onboarding process for new employees end-to-end, conduct onboarding calls with full time hires, field email requests / respond daily, address payroll questions. Lastly, you will also assist with payroll system implementation and ongoing maintenance. From time to time, these tasks may vary based on the current needs from the business. Recruitment Tasks - Day to Day Process Overview You’ll live in four tools: our job boards (e.g., Applicant Tracking System "ATS"), our recruiting CRM, group text, and Asana. Keep ads live in the right markets Deploy job ads from our approved regional templates, adjust spend and placement by market, and pull the ads down when a route fills. Watch which markets are producing and which are dead, and move budget accordingly. Work your candidate queue Log in, see who’s pre-qualified and waiting, pick up the conversation. Pitch a route 1234 Peachtree Commons - this route runs Sunday through Thursday starting at 7pm and takes about 1.5 hours a day. Pay is $1,000 a month ($500 twice a month). Interested? Read the response and act: Yes - hand off. Not that one - pitch another. Closer, different nights, different community. Knowing which route to offer next is the actual skill in this job. No - close it out cleanly in the CRM and move on. Hand them off Start a group text connecting the candidate with the local training manager, then log it in Asana so the whole ops team can see it: CLT - Mike - Property 5 - 8/25 Answer the questions Candidates ask the same twenty things. When do I get paid? → Twice a month by direct deposit, on the 5th and the 20th. You’ll know the answers cold by week two. Close the loop Confirm training happened. Confirm the first shift happened. Flag anything that stalls. Priority Order When the week runs short - and it will - this is the order: Candidates in queue. A pre-qualified person who waits a day is usually gone. Training handoffs and Asana entries. The field can’t act on what it can’t see. First-shift follow-up. This is where we lose people. Ad deployment for open/urgent markets. Ad performance reporting. Nothing below the line disappears - it moves to tomorrow. Tell us when items 4 and 5 keep sliding, because that’s a staffing signal, not a personal failing. Who This Is Role For Comfortable supporting a fast-paced HR function in a growing company with varying tasks and requirements. Excitement to learn and try new things. Fast on text and comfortable pitching. Most of your day is written, and you’re persuading, not just informing. Undiscouraged by "no." You have another route ready. Organized enough to keep [40-60] live conversations straight without letting one go cold. Follows through on the boring part - the confirmation, the Asana entry, the day-after check-in. Numbers‑comfortable. You don’t need to be an analyst, but you should be able to look at spend and hires by market and say something useful about it. Fine with some evening availability, since training and first shifts happen at night. Not for: Anyone looking for traditional recruiting with sourcing projects, intake meetings, and offer negotiation. Screening is automated here. This is ads, conversion, and coordination, at volume. Requirements Required 1+ years in Human Resources, Recruiting / recruiting coordination, staffing, inside sales, scheduling, customer service, or any role built on high-volume outreach and follow-through. Other additional back-office experience will be considered. Strong, clear written communication. You’ll send and receive many emails / hundreds of messages a week that represent this company. Comfortable in a CRM or ATS as your source of truth, and in a job board dashboard reading basic performance data. Based in metro Charlotte, NC and able to be in our Charlotte, NC (South End) office at least 2-3 days per week. Some evening / weekend availability on an as-needed basis. Helps Hands‑on experience with Indeed, ZipRecruiter, or similar job board campaign management. Multi‑state or multi‑market experience. HR experience. Hourly, part‑time, or shift‑based workforce experience. Bilingual (English/Spanish). Familiarity with Asana or a similar project tool. Associates or Bachelors Degree from accredited college or university (nice-to-have) This role does not require a college degree to be hired, however such experience will be considered in the selection and review process. Logistics Schedule: Hybrid - 2-3 days in our Charlotte, NC (South End), 2-3 days flexible / remote. Pay: $42,000 - $45,000 Annually Start: To Be Determined.
