Job Description

Meeting House Lane Medical practice, an affiliate of Stony Brook Medicine, is seeking a board‑certified or board‑eligible endocrinologist to join our team full time. We are flexible and welcome recently trained residents. Compensation is above average and depends in part on experience and office location (Westhampton, Hampton Bays, Southampton, East Hampton).

Responsibilities

• Provides health care to patients including diagnosis of endocrine conditions such as diabetes, hypothyroidism and metabolic disorders.
• Obtains medical histories, performs physical examinations, and makes diagnosis, orders appropriate standard laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
• Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patients’ plans of care.
• Provides patient education about underlying medical condition, self‑management of acute or chronic illnesses and tailors instructions to patients’ individual circumstances.
• Instructs and counsels patients regarding therapeutic regimens, promoting wellness and health maintenance.
• Prescribes medications.
• Documents exam and progress notes in the Electronic Medical Record. Provides referral letters as needed.
• Collects, monitors and reports on patient outcomes.
• Ensures HIPAA guidelines are followed at all times.
• Works with an interdisciplinary team to provide patient‑centered care, follows established evidence‑based practices and assures good quality patient care.
• Supports the educational mission of Stony Brook Medicine and the GME department of Stony Brook Southampton Hospital.
• Responsible for meeting quality benchmarks established by the Stony Brook ACO, Population Health, Payors, NYS DOH or Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services.
• Builds a patient population base to generate revenue to cover salary and expenses.

Required Qualifications

• MD or DO graduate
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Endocrinology
• NYS Licensure
• Post‑graduate experience in an ambulatory setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Post‑graduate experience in an ambulatory setting.

Physical Demands

May spend a great deal of the professional day walking, standing, moving and manipulating equipment, and lifting and moving objects. Ability to lift 20 pounds. May involve lifting up to 50 pounds or assisting with weights of more than 100 pounds. Requires the ability to stand for extended periods, bend or twist the body, and visual acuity.

Salary and Benefits

Salary: $300,000–$345,000 with incentive bonuses. Full‑time. Provider. Exempt.
