Labor And Employment Attorney

Our client, a leading law firm with a sophisticated management-side Labor & Employment practice , is seeking an Employment Litigation Associate to join its growing team in the New Jersey / Philadelphia region .

This is an excellent opportunity for an associate with employment litigation experience to handle a broad mix of management-side litigation, counseling, compliance, and labor-related matters for clients ranging from small and mid-sized businesses to large national companies and public-sector entities.

The associate will work on employment litigation and administrative proceedings involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblower claims, wage and hour issues, restrictive covenant matters, labor disputes, and other workplace-related claims. The role may also include advising employers on compliance issues, terminations, leaves of absence, performance management, personnel policies, employment agreements, workplace trainings, and related risk-management strategies.

The ideal candidate will have approximately 2-10 years of labor and employment experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have represented employers in litigation before state or federal courts and/or administrative agencies such as the EEOC, NLRB, or comparable state agencies. Candidates with experience in both litigation and advice/counseling are strongly encouraged to apply. Traditional labor experience, public-sector labor experience, collective bargaining, arbitration, and/or Act 111 experience are also a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Approximately 2–10 years of labor and employment experience
  • Management-side / employer-defense experience preferred
  • Experience with employment litigation involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblower, wage and hour, and related workplace claims
  • Experience practicing in state or federal court and/or before administrative agencies such as the EEOC, NLRB, or state employment agencies
  • Counseling experience involving compliance, terminations, leaves, performance management, personnel policies, trainings, and employment-related agreements preferred
  • Strong writing, research, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to take ownership of matters and manage a challenging workload
  • Admission to the New Jersey and/or Pennsylvania Bar required, depending on office location; New York admission is a plus

  • Locations: New Jersey and/or Philadelphia region
  • Hybrid flexibility available, depending on office, department, and client needs
  • Compensation is competitive and will vary based on experience, credentials, location, and role fit; for the NJ office, we're targeting a base salary range of $200-235K annually.
