Senior Database Administrator

Required Skills & Experience:

• 7+ years hands-on production DBA experience, at least 3 at senior/lead level

• Deep SQL Server (2016+) including HA — Always On, clustering, replication

• Real PostgreSQL production administration, not just "I have used Postgres"

• Expert performance tuning: execution plans, index strategy, partitioning, blocking and deadlocks

• Has personally designed and operated an archiving/retention/purge strategy on large tables

• Has personally designed a dimensional model — star schema, fact grain, conformed dimensions, SCDs

• Has built and supported production ETL/ELT pipelines (any tool)

• Owns backup, restore testing, and DR against stated RTO/RPO

• Can and will work on-site in Enfield five days a week

Job Description:

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Database Administrator for a client in the waste and recycling industry. This individual will serve as the organization's database authority, supporting production database administration while helping design and build its data warehouse and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines. The position requires extensive hands-on experience with SQL Server and PostgreSQL, database performance tuning, archiving and retention strategies, backup and disaster recovery, dimensional modeling, and data integration. This is an individual-contributor role reporting to the Chief Information & Technology Officer and requires working on-site in Enfield five days per week.

Salary Ranges from $140,000 to $155,000 and is based on experience. Benefit packages for this role may include healthcare insurance offerings and paid leave as provided by applicable law.
