Radiology Nurse (RN) - Interventional Radiology

RN – Radiology (IR) provides skilled nursing care for interventional radiology procedures, supporting diagnostic and therapeutic interventions with attention to patient safety and workflow efficiency. The role requires independent clinical judgment, strong procedural support skills, and readiness to assist with moderate sedation–related care.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for interventional radiology procedures, ensuring timely assessment and documented readiness.
• Administer and monitor care during moderate sedation in accordance with established protocols.
• Assist providers throughout procedures by managing positioning, instrumentation support, and sterile field coordination as applicable.
• Monitor vital signs, neurologic status, and recovery parameters, escalating concerns promptly.
• Support imaging workflow by preparing equipment and coordinating with radiology, tech, and clinical teams.
• Maintain accurate charting in Meditech and ensure compliance with radiation safety and clinical documentation standards.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current RN license and be licensed at submission.
• Maintain active ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Demonstrate at least 2 years of RN experience in procedural or high-acuity settings.
• Possess experience in Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Cath Lab, or critical care/emergency/procedural departments.
• Exhibit experience supporting moderate sedation and patient monitoring during active procedures.
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced procedural environment.
