Network Engineer I

General Position Summary: Contribute to planning, forecasting, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for network backbone infrastructures (inclusive of wireless technologies). The scope of this position typically affects the delivery of campus backbone network resources for a large number of local and wide-area connected buildings. Trouble-shoot, monitor and maintain network components and functionality on a school/campus/enterprise-wide level. Position provides consultation to IT users in designated business units for aspects of network connectivity functions, issues of increasing traffic, and determining the path between hosts across the network. Candidate communicates with end users about the scheduling and delivery of changes within the network topology and participates in the technical aspects of network changes and workflow. Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree. Additional experience may substitute for education. Related experience beyond minimum training experience qualifications may substitute for formal education requirement on a two years experience-for-one year education basis Required Experience: Three years of related experience. Salary Range: Minimum 27.51/hour - Maximum 48.14/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
